Job Description
Cooligy is looking for an experienced, hands-on mechanical engineer to support
the development and production of our unique fluid-based cooling solutions. The
ideal candidate will have a broad mechanical background with significant experience
in mechanical and thermal design. Professional experience in the areas
of new product development and introduction is desired. The candidate will have
the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams throughout the product development
cycle to ensure that we can build cost effective, high performance products on
time and in volume.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
Product Design and Test
- Work with marketing and engineering teams to design liquid and air
heat exchangers and custom liquid cooling systems to meet customer
performance and reliability requirements.
- Incorporate DFx into system and component design to enable high yielding
manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Establish thermal test methodology and equipment for prototype and
production testing. Conduct thermal testing of components and
liquid cooling systems under a variety of use conditions to determine
whether they meet customer specifications.
- Work with Reliability engineering
to implement thermal test capabilities under stress conditions.
Project Management
- Lead a cross-functional team to ensure the timely development and
qualification of products by:
Must-Have Qualifications:
- MS/PhD. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied
Physics or related field with a minimum 5 years experience in product
development.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop products and processes
for high volume production. Must be creative and develop innovative
solutions that optimize performance and manufacturability.
- Very strong analytical skills and understanding of fluid mechanics
and heat transfer.
- Broad process background, including experience with polymer and metals
processing (e.g. injection molding, stamping, extrusion and joining).
- Ability to create CAD models and generate mechanical drawings
- Strong thermal modeling capabilities with Icepak or Flowtherm
- Hands-on testing experience. Working knowledge of thermal test methods
and tools.
- Disciplined at data capture and documentation.
- Familiarity with characterizing thermal interface materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team orientation, consistent work
habits, and a can-do attitude. Ability to work as a member or
