Mark
Munch, Ph.D., President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of
the Board
Mark joins Cooligy from Corning, Incorporated
where he served as vice president and general manager for two product
divisions, Signal Generation and Micro Optic Components. He was
also vice president and chief technology officer of Corning Photonic
Technologies. While at Corning, Mark was responsible for business
strategy and product development, directing the activity of more
than 300 signal-generation and photonics employees whose responsibilities
included passive components, amplifier products, semiconductor products,
and compensation products. Prior to joining Corning, Mark was general
manager of the Tyco Electronics Corporation’s power materials
group, a business unit that developed gel products for interconnect
and thermal management. While at Tyco, Mark also served as vice
president and chief technology officer of this $10 billion firm,
leading the central research and development effort for new business
and new technology platforms. Earlier in his career, Mark spent
10 years at Raychem Corporation (acquired by Tyco International
Ltd. in 1999) in various key positions including director of advanced
technology and business development for the electronics OEM components
division; general manager and technical director of the display
products group; and advanced product development manager of the
polyswitch division. Mark received his bachelor’s degree in
chemical engineering from University of Colorado and his M.S. and
Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from Stanford University.
